Who we are
This Privacy Policy applies to the Sparrow & Stone website and the tools on it (including the free career scorecard). Sparrow & Stone is the "responsible party" under POPIA for the personal information described below. What we collect
We only collect personal information you choose to give us. There are two different situations on this site:
1. The "Before You Say Yes" scorecard
The ratings and reflections you enter into the scorecard tool stay in your browser. They are not transmitted to us, stored on our servers, or seen by anyone at Sparrow & Stone. If you use the "Print / Save as PDF" option, that file is created locally on your own device.
2. The contact form
When you fill in the contact form (including the "Career Decision Workbook early access" option), we collect what you choose to enter: your name, email address, and optionally your business/organisation, role, phone number, approximate number of employees, and any message you write. We do not collect anything from you unless you submit the form yourself.
Why we use it
We use the information you submit only to:
- Respond to your enquiry and arrange a conversation, if relevant;
- Let you know when the Career Decision Workbook becomes available, if you asked for early access;
- Keep a record of our correspondence with you.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Our lawful basis for processing
We process your information on the basis of your consent — you choose to submit the form, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by asking us to delete your information (see "Your rights" below).
Where your information is stored
This site is hosted on Netlify, and form submissions are processed and stored using Netlify Forms. Netlify’s infrastructure may store data on servers located outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred outside South Africa, Sparrow & Stone will take the steps required by applicable data-protection law in relation to that transfer.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only for as long as reasonably needed to respond to your enquiry or maintain an ongoing conversation with you, or as required by law. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
Your rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to:
- Ask us what personal information we hold about you;
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or out of date;
- Ask us to delete your information, or object to us processing it;
- Withdraw consent at any time, without it affecting anything we did before you withdrew it;
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator if you believe we've mishandled your information.

Cookies and tracking
This site does not currently use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. If that changes in future, this policy will be updated to disclose it and, where required, ask for your consent first.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site and our tools evolve. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version.
